Stage 1.3 Advance - Values & Currents
Stage 1.3 Advance - Values & Currents
Mission Outcome
By the end of Advance, you will have identified five core values, drafted “boat guides” for each, and surfaced key themes and currents that shape how you move through life.
Estimated Steady Voyager Time
60 - 90 minutes
Record your start time in the Mission Time Log.
With your historical hull framed and your story mapped, the Advance stage has you in the cove at dusk—tools scattered, sawdust everywhere, and daylight disappearing faster than you’d like. This is where you realize that how you handle time, energy, and priorities will decide whether your boat ever leaves the makeshift dock.
As you work, certain patterns keep surfacing. Some values keep showing up like the North Star—steady, sure. Others have been stowed away in the hold, important but ignored. Advance is where you time your efforts, choose your core values on purpose, and identify the through‑lines that run like deep currents beneath every chapter of your life.
By the end of Advance, your values are no longer vague ideas, they’re the sail and compass of your boat. Your through‑lines become the currents you decide to ride instead of fight, giving your future voyages a clear direction and pace.
Step 1. Sail and Compass: Choose Core Values
Mission Console Chat
Ask for a summary of your life chapters from past to present in 1-2 paragraphs.
AI Ally or Mission Console Chat
In your AI Ally (the tool you chose in Pre-Launch) or in your Mission Console Chat if you prefer, include the following:
- Summary from previous step.
- Notes you select from the mission console.
- This prompt:
I’m preparing for a life adventure. Please choose the core values that will act as the sail and compass for my life‑boat. Please suggest 30 possible values.
After you receive the response paste the following prompt:
Please help me narrow the values down to 5 core values by asking me at least 5 clarifying questions. After that, write a one‑sentence ‘boat guide’ for each value describing how it should guide my decisions at sea.
Mission Console Studio
- Select ‘Add note’.
- Title the note ‘Core Values’.
- Paste the Core Values and Boat Guides from your AI Ally / Mission Console Chat.
- Convert to Source.
(Optional) Step 2. Iterate: Dive Deeper with Intentionality
Mission Console Chat
Paste the following prompt:
Using all sources, list 3 recurring themes or behaviors that show up across different seasons of my life. Describe each as a ‘current’ in my ocean journey and suggest one way I could choose to ride that current more intentionally in the next season.
- Self-reflect and determine if response is applicable/helpful for you. If not, try responding in conversational style to reach something that feels right for you.
- Import the behavior you decide on to Source and/or Copy-Paste in Notes.
Core values are not always something you can identify in a single sitting. Naming them is often a process over time because values carry depth and touch many facets of life. Your family, culture, faith, and other influences all shape how your values develop and how you make decisions. Life Capsule 1 is a helpful place to revisit when you want to see where you center your choices and what truly matters most to you.
